Quick & Easy Halloween Treat & Craft Ideas

You don’t have to be a craft whiz or an expert chef to make kid-friendly decorations and treats (trust me!). Here are some quick and easy ideas I tried this Halloween that were a hit with the critics…I mean family 😉

Take apart Oreo cookies, add edible decorating gel, a brown M&M and red gel squiggles.
Easy peasy.

Pierce grapes with a wood skewer to desired length, attach candy eyes to a dab of green gel. You could also use a cherry tomato for the head (I knew my kiddos preferred grapes).
A simple and healthy snack!

Skellies: Regular sized marshmallows head, pushed onto a mini pretzel stick, placed through 4 yogurt covered pretzels, with marker face.
Mouths: Sliced apples with peanut better gums (or in this case red food gel), with mini marshmallows in-between.

Paint wooden clothespins using a base coat (or 2) of acrylic paint, let dry, add desired fingernail paint, warts, stitches and knuckles.

I used 4 basic colors (ebony black, buttermilk, true red and festive green) in a relatively inexpensive paint from Michael’s. No need to break the bank.

These were so much fun and I used them in a number of different ways. (Check out my Halloween table post here.)

I hope these budget and time-friendly ideas inspire you to have some fun this Halloweenie season. If I can do it so can you! Have any questions? Just let me know. Once again…

Thanks for stopping! ~Ellen
