This year’s whimsical tablescape is Halloween party ready using the DIY clothespin fingers and spooky paper products. (Witch plates and ghost napkins from HomeGoods, hats from World Market, and eyeball plates from Michael’s.)

I love Halloween and I love creepy, but even I wasn’t sure how I felt about using a doll under glass…I just knew I wanted to keep it simple. Turns out I love it! So does my two-year old. How do I know? Her shrieking “baaaaby” in pure joy sort of gave it away πŸ˜‰

Here, on top of the hutch, you can see I mixed fairly neutral autumn decorations with Halloween. I usually put the fall stuff out right after Labor Day and add the creep factor around October 1st.

Another mama with a different kind of baby. How sweet.
hanging branch, chandelier
Above the table I hung a rubber tree branch I’ve had for years. I attached it to the chandelier with two long pieces of fishing line. Once I found the right spots to balance it, it worked great.

I placed another branch above a side table in the background.

If you’ll notice, I often play around with different placesettings. I prefer this one with the white Corelle dishes. They add needed contrast against the dark table. (If you look closely you can see some front porch decorations. I went nuts with spiders this year πŸ•·οΈπŸ•ΈοΈ)

Another use for the clothespin fingers. They turned out so stinkin’ cute. My favorite is the witch with a cracked red nail. It’s more easily seen if you scroll up to the first photo πŸ’…

And that my friends is our 2019 Halloween dining space. Hopefully you gained some ideas and will visit again soon. Have a happy and safe fright night!

Thanks for stopping! ~Ellen
